How do I choose which database to research?

Answer

First, keep in mind that you should focus on your topic and less on the class you are in (unless your professor places certain parameters on what you should use).  What this means is that if you're in a Religion class but your topic touches on an issue related to psychology or literature or the field of business, you should also consider searching in some of our databases in that other field.  This can be a good time to ask a member of the library faculty (a Librarian) for help.

Browse the Databases by Discipline/Subject: You can begin by searching databases on the subject you are researching. We have created a page called "Databases by Discipline/Subject" that delineates which databases cover which subject. It is a good place to start. 

Browse the A-Z Database List: You can also search through the A-Z Database list to explore options.
